Take the leap! You are more than you think you are.

May today be the day that you choose to take the plunge in whatever you have been waiting for the perfect time. There will never be a perfect time. There will never be a perfect time to start that business, go back to school, start saving for your retirement or go to that exotic vacation, start a family, ask out that crush of yours, move to a new city or country and the list can go on and on.

Sometimes what is really holding you down is fear of failure. I wonder, who told you would fail if you did it? Ignore the Nay Sayers, sometime the Nay Sayer is your own inner voice/inner critic that tells you in one way or another that you are not good enough. Silence that voice and know that you are more than equipped to take on what you have wanted to do. You might be saying, “I faced my fear and failed.” No! You did not fail, you learned something about it. Yes, it can be a painful lesson; maybe you lost some money or friends along the way, but guess what, this time around when you are jumping back into it or starting a new venture, you will be more courageous and  able to avoid the pitfalls that led you the wrong path the previous time.

Fear isn’t the only thing that can hold you down. It can be somethings you that have accepted about life, about yourself, beliefs that you have come to believe as your truth. They are limiting beliefs like; “This is too much for me. I just can’t do it, I never have enough money, if I had a better education, I could earn more money, all the good ones are taken, it’s impossible to make money in the arts, I just don’t have enough experience, etc.” Fortunately, you can get past these beliefs by asking & seeking answers from within yourself. Questions like; how true is this thought? Where did I get this idea from? Or any other question that will challenge the limiting belief so that you can get over the hump.

Other times you don’t take the step because you assume that it didn’t work in the past therefore it will not work this time around. That’s far from the truth, it is an assumption. What is the assumption you are that is holding you back? Question your assumption (just because that happened in the past, why must it happen again?) and then let it go and take an action that will lead you to start whatever you have been delaying to start.

Remember, it is not what you are that holds you back, it is what you think you are not. Choose to change your thinking today. You are more than you think you are. You will excel in whatever you put you mind to and diligently work at it.
