Twists in Unlikely Situations

Growth and change for the better can sometimes come from least likeable times; when things are not working as you would like.

This has been true in my life. Before becoming an entrepreneur, I was an Executive Director for a non-profit. That job was extremely high stress, I was in a total burn out condition and didn’t enjoy it any more. I had a 2-year exit strategy to get ready to start my own business to seniors in my community. That 2-year exit strategy didn’t work out as planned due to the stress, burn out etc. One Sunday afternoon I decided I couldn’t stay in that position one day longer. I wrote a resignation letter to the board and quit that job effective immediately. My two-year plan quickly changed, I saw it was my opportunity to do what I really what to do, start my own business serving seniors and their families. 6 years later, I enjoy having that business I started and also added another one.

Today I would encourage you to be grateful for when things don’t work out because of the hard times you might see an opportunity to change and grow.
